Wie gestern schon angekündigt ist hier die englische Version meines Interviews von gestern.

As I promised yesterday, here it is: the English version of my small interview with Bombastic Gamer Films!

Thanks to the guys from Bombastic Gamer Films for giving me this great opportunity!

 

At first I wanted to know how they came to Battlefront at all:

„I had honestly been looking forward to the new Star Wars Battlefront ever since Star Wars battlefront 2 came out in 2005. I was 11 years old at the time and played that game for many years afterwards. So many hours of fun and different ways to play.[…] So when I saw the trailers for EA’s swbf, I was absolutely blown away! It looked like such an authentic Star Wars experience, and delivered in a lot of aspects.“

Seems like a lot of players, including myself, can identify with this.

Then asked about the first idea behind their YouTube chanel, Andrew said the following:

„The idea behind Bombastic was to start a YouTube channel creating short films and skits filmed inside video games. It was an idea I had played around with while studying film and writing at university, and after pitching my ideas to a few friends, I decided to launch the channel! At the moment there are two people editing, me (Andrew), and Evan, who you may know as ShadowPotato from our gameplay videos. Then there’s also a few of my friends who help with filming, some thumbnails, ideas etc. Plus all the wonderful people online who act in our in-game skits.“

So „Bombastic Gamer Films“ is more a team than just one or two guys which is not that common nowadays. Seems like they complement each other very well judging by the videos in the end… 😉

Now knowing the first idea and the start of the channel, I wanted to know what their general goal is, what they are aiming to achieve with it:

„I’d say the general goal of the channel is to entertain people by showing them things they haven’t seen before. To me, every video is a new experience! It also brings us great pleasure knowing that our videos make people laugh. This is a big motivation for why we make the videos, and being able to brighten up someone’s day, even just for a few minutes, is what makes us happy and proud.“

Knowing that people love the content created for them would give me some extra motivation too, totally relateable. But honestly, is there any possibility other than just loving their videos? (thinking about the Nien Nunb army right now ^^)

To start speaking more about the game, Andrew listed up the many things he likes about Battlefront, but also what he did not like:

„I think there was lots to like in Star Wars Battlefront! Graphically, it is an amazing looking game with an incredible attention to detail in the Star Wars universe.  Also, Walker Assault is an incredible gamemode. The scale and intensity is immense! Having speeders fly over your head while trying to take down AT-ATs and AT-STs, while running through the icy trenches of Hoth is really something special. I remember the first time I took down a Walker. What a feeling! I also can’t go without mentioning the sound design. Sometimes I think we forget it’s there, but to me, in this game, it really shines! The only real thing I didn’t like about SWBF was the lack of content in the beginning. But that just seems to be the way things are in the gaming industry nowadays, and has nothing to do with the passionate developers and designers who created a beautiful game for us to explore.“

I for one can really confirm that. The developers from EA DICE are all extremly passionate guys with a lot of love for this game. They always listen to the community and work hard to bring us the best game. Of course there was lack of content at first but that was fixed pretty quickly.

At last we discussed whether the guys from Bombastic Gamer Films would want to continue their awesome work with the coming Battlefront II in November:

„Yes we would love to continue producing videos for Star Wars Battlefront 2! We are looking forward to more info on that game soon! Hopefully it takes all the strengths from the 2015 game and really flourishes. It certainly deserves to.“

I have nothing to add here, the same goes for me and my blog here. Really looking forward to the next month, especially SW Celebration and the first trailers.
